Google wants to show its users content that answers their search queries. If your content is truly the best, then it is in Google’s best interest to show it at the top of the search results. If the content is not what the user expected, they will go back to the search results and look for another option. If this happens too often, they will eventually change their search engine completely and switch to another one that offers better results. Of course, Google doesn’t want that.
