What I felt while using Taobao

Today, while I was browsing Taobao (a Chinese shopping site), I suddenly had a thought. Taobao has 10 times as many items as Yahoo! Auctions, but many of them are worthless. The value of things varies from person to person. However, the items I want and actually use are only a few of the millions listed on Taobao. When I met Dean Kamen, the inventor of the Segway, a few years ago, he told me that most of the things being sold in this world are junk. I think I understand what he was saying very well now.

There are only a handful of things in this world that can help email data or be truly useful in people's lives. I can't help but feel that we are living our lives forgetting such important things in this world of material abundance. Indeed, Dean Kamen has invented a machine that can make drinkable water from any water. I too will continue using Taobao, reaffirming these simple and important things. There's something I think about when I'm driving on the highway. We should be grateful that it must have taken so many people and so many days to build this endlessly long road . Even so, the traffic is terrible. I watched Transformers with some friends the other day.
