On June 29th, Mynavi Creators held an online seminar entitled "Web Industry Evolution Practical Course #07: Three Mindsets for Web Directors Successful in the Business World, as Seen by People at DMM.com."

"Web Industry Evolution Practical Course" is a course where you can learn about your career from role models working at the forefront of the web industry. This is the seventh installment of the series, and this time we invited Junichi Yamamoto as a guest to talk about what is required to direct a business company and the type of talent that can thrive in the industry.

Instructor Profile

, DMM.com LLC

Born in October 1976. Lives in Kanazawa, Ishikawa Prefecture. After working as a supervisor in the restaurant industry and in medical equipment sales , he joined DMM.com
in 2010. As a web director , he is responsible for a wide range of digital content e-commerce construction, focusing on smartphone app development/website development and production direction. Currently, he is in a department that mainly creates new businesses and solves business problems, and he launched a BPM project for website operations, focusing on accelerating business speed through RPA and other measures. He is a Scrum Inc. certified Scrum Master.

What is the "understanding of business logic" required of a director of a business company?
Yamamoto is in his 30s and had no prior experience in IT, but in 2010 he industry email list started his career as a web director at DMM.com, and is currently involved in creating new businesses and solving business issues (for an introduction to his career, please refer to the advance interview, " What kind of people are needed by business companies in these rapidly changing times ?").

The seminar began with a slide titled "What business owners think." Yamamoto then listed three things: "Sales acquisition," "Profit improvement," and "Risk hedging." He explained that "If you don't understand these three fundamentals, it will be difficult to succeed in a business company."

Yamamoto: In the process of achieving each of the three elements, business companies require people who can act based on facts and logical reasoning. You could also say that they have a correct understanding of business logic.
