The 5 content curation tools you should know about January 18, 2016

I admit it: I don't like the term "content curation" in the least. I don't like it because it's an Anglicism, a direct translation of "content curator," but what other term can you use for the task of searching, selecting, filtering, categorizing, and ultimately publishing online content ? And please don't make it too long.😉

A task, moreover, in which the qualification of the selected special lead content is fundamental, because in this processing and evaluation action lies the distinguishing characteristic, in the informational maelstrom that the Internet has become.

Here are five tools to help you curate content , depending on your needs and ultimate goal.

Five tools for content curation1. Feedly
A basic and very simple tool for following the information sources that interest you . It's as easy as adding the URLs of the websites and blogs you want to follow. The system classifies the sources by topic (you can accept the category suggested or use another), helping you organize the content you've selected into sections. It also indicates how many Feedly users follow each blog and assigns a popularity score to each post (if you like to compare, you know how).

You can share content directly to Twitter, Pinterest, and Facebook . If you also upgrade to the PRO version, you can connect Feedly to apps like IFTTT to automate posts, or share on LinkedIn, Hootsuite, and Buffer.

Feedly is also a great tool for searching and discovering new information niches , either by searching by topic or by browsing the albums and related feeds the tool offers.

You might be interested in it if: you want to stay up-to-date with what's being published on the blogs and websites you're interested in, in a simple and organized way , and discover new sources of relevant information, all for free. It's also a tool that can be combined with other, more sophisticated applications, making it a useful starting point.
