xBlogs are no longer read, they are scanned

Post by Abdur12 »

In this post I explain in more detail one of the 9 fields of interaction with content in online marketing. “Scanning” is a typical way that reflects how most users read blogs. Here are some tips to prevent the user from escaping and move on to a field of interaction that allows generating a higher ROI.

Most bloggers invest a lot of time in creating content that they think will be useful for their readers. The time between writing, revising and publishing a post can range from 1-2 hours to several days. In fact, many quality posts do not receive the attention they deserve because they do not take into account the way in which most visitors interact with content (see also “The 9 fields of user interaction with your content” ) today: blogs are no longer read, they are scanned.

It is thanks to Twitter that we have quick access to thousands of pieces of content every hour of the day. Even though we have access to a very large number of readers through this channel, it is not so easy journalists email list to get their attention. Our post competes with many others at the same time. It is impossible to read all the posts that we find interesting in detail. In fact, it can already be considered a small success if we have managed to get the user's attention through one click.

How to get users' attention?

In this post I'm focusing a lot on Twitter because it's what I know best. Even so, most of the tips can also be applied to other networks or environments. To get initial attention and capture traffic, the following points are important.

Create memorable titles : I have written on several occasions about the importance of titles and how to create Twitter headlines that grab the user's attention. 80% of a post's success is in its header.

Post at the best times : Knowing the “prime time” of your blog and Twitter allows you to get more coverage. The best results are achieved by publishing and launching tweets and posts between 11 and 12 p.m.
