Introducing WordPress 5.4 (New Blocks, Features, APIs)

WordPress 5.4 “Adderley” was released on March 31, 2020, and is available for download.

So it’s time for us to dive into the most exciting new features and changes coming with WordPress 5.4.

First, WordPress 5.4 brings many features, improvements, and bug fixes to the block editor, with a significant number of Gutenberg plugin releases merged into core. These changes affect both functionality and the user interface, improving the accessibility/usability of the editor and the overall editing experience.

In addition to the editor, WordPress 5.4 introduces some interesting improvements to the Site Health Tool and the REST API , while a couple of features expected with WordPress 5.4 have been delayed and should ei salvador phone number data be included in Core with the upcoming WordPress 5.5 release (see Native Lazy Loading in Images and Navigation Block ).

What's new with the Block Editor?
A considerable number of Gutenberg plugin versions have been merged into core, from 6.6 to 7.5. So, if you are not using the Gutenberg plugin, you will find tons of new features, improvements, and bug fixes in the block editor when you update to WordPress 5.4.
