Post by sakib40 »

Let's continue our learning of English and discover a country that is rarely represented in series: South Africa.

Netflix offers 3 series: Blood&Water, Queen Sono and the latest, Jiva.

Very different from each other, they each allow you to discover a city in stockholder data South Africa, local languages such as Zulu and Swahili and the South African English accent.

It is also an opportunity to learn a little more about current South African society, the history of the country and its urban cultures.

A little tip for understanding this accent, which we rarely encounter in pop culture, is to keep the English subtitles. To learn the vocabulary, go to the Learn and Watch platform which offers quizzes for each episode.
