It is the (very) long term that brings results

Post by jrineakter »

Hello dear friend and welcome to this new episode of the Authentic French podcast. I am very very happy that you are joining me, especially since it is a very active, very busy and very important period for both Authentic French and all our members, since registrations for the academy are open. They are open until Wednesday 12, so don't delay, join us as soon as possible, these registrations are closed 90% of the year.

And the academy, I'm not going to give you the whole description again, since I've already talked about it a lot and especially since the first link at the bottom shows you exactly what's in the academy, but the academy gives you exclusive content, a lot, more than 150 hours, and of course meetings with tutors, dictations, SOS sheets and lots of other projects, a big reading club that I don't talk about enough but which actually keeps a lot of members busy. You have lots of weekly meetings on the subject. Anyway, it's a very, very complete platform. Basically, it has everything. To sum up, it has everything you need to learn French and practice every day while having fun.

So today, it's not going to be a super sweden whatsapp number data motivating episode that will fill you with energy, that will push you to say to yourself: "Great. If I apply this starting today, I will have lots of great results". No, it's rather a somewhat realistic episode that encourages patience, that encourages reflection and the implementation of a strategy. And it's often in fact this type of idea that has the most impact in our lives. It's not what will motivate us the most, but it's what will impact us the most.

So quite simply, this episode is a call for a long-term vision, it is a call to choose your strategies carefully, to simplify them, and here I am talking about all the strategies in your life, and to wait patiently for the results. The results often only come after several months and several years, but you should not tell yourself "oh I tried that for two weeks, it doesn't work" as much for your learning of French as for anything else. No, you have to try and persevere and give yourself time. As they say in French, we have a proverb: "You have to let time take its course".

And it's hard because we live in a society of instant gratification. I talk to my kids about it all the time, I try to teach them about it, but the society we live in, it pushes us to want everything right away.
