Facebook Pages - Receive Notifications

Post by Bappy11 »

Facebook is changing rapidly and is constantly introducing new functionalities for users and brands. This past week, Facebook has also started rolling out a number of new functionalities. We have listed the most important new developments for you.

1. Notification button for fan pages
There has been a lot of discussion lately about the (declining) reach of fan page postings in the news overview. If you as a fan of a page do not want to miss an update from your favorite brand or website, you can now receive a notification every time a message is posted by this page. You will receive the notification via the notification list at the top left (the globe). This function is called 'Get notifications' ( Get notifications for English users) and is integrated with the Like button.

It is important to mention that fans have to proactively check this function themselves. So it is not automatically on when you are or become a fan. In America, where the button was launched earlier , we see pages that post messages and ask their fans to check this function so that they do not miss an update. I expect that we will also see this in the Netherlands in the near future.

2. Special news feed for fan pages

At the same time as the 'Get Notifications' feature, Facebook is also launching brazil telegram data another feature to improve the visibility of fan pages: a news feed specifically for fan pages . Not much is known about it yet, but according to Adweek it will be a special news feed that only contains messages from the pages you are a fan of, and is (for now) free of ads. You can view the news feed for pages by clicking on 'Pages feed' under the 'Pages' heading on the left side of your screen. The result looks like this:

3. Share button for mobile
Facebook users have been asking for it for a long time and now it's finally here: the share button for the mobile version of Facebook. You'll wonder how it took so long for this much-requested feature to arrive. The feature is currently only available in the mobile browser version of Facebook , but Facebook has announced that it will soon be coming to the native iPhone/iPad and Android devices.

4. Recommended Posts
This week Facebook also added a new ad format to the huge number of possibilities for advertising on Facebook : 'Suggested Posts'. Or, in plain Dutch: 'Recommended Posts'. Actually, these ads are not entirely new, because they are an extension of the already existing page post ads (also called promoted postings). Suggested Postings are ads without so-called social context . Previously, you could only target a page post ad to the newsfeed of Facebook users whose boyfriend or girlfriend was already a fan of your page. With Suggested Posts it becomes possible to target a page post ad to the newsfeed of every Facebook user in the Netherlands.

Suggested post

Because it may not be entirely clear to the user where the posting comes from, Facebook has mentioned “Suggested Post” at the top of the posting, next to the already known Sponsored at the bottom of the posting. There is also the famous Like or 'Like' button on the right side of the posting, so that users can immediately become a fan of the page. We are very curious to see how Facebook users will react to this and how these advertisements will perform next to the existing possibilities.

With the suggested postings we conclude this Facebook update. Did we miss something in this overview? Let us know in the comments.
