How window displays tempt and compel people to buy more

Post by zakiyatasnim »

New Year's window displays attract attention with their design and evoke nostalgia, reminding us of the warm attitude to the holidays in childhood. But at the same time, they are a tool for increasing sales, forcing us to make unnecessary purchases.

Visual merchandising, or, in other words, window dressing switzerland number data, is a special arrangement of goods. One of the advantages of this tool is the presence of a kind of mystery: the windows are decorated when the store is not working, and the glass is covered with protective panels. As a result, the finished window appears before the buyers suddenly, as if by magic, and consumer mythology has always been tied to the invisibility of labor.

Cultural value
Window displays usually change as quickly as fashion trends, but large stores traditionally hold special events to celebrate their holiday window displays.

For nearly 60 years, Ogilvy's department store in Montreal was the rare exception, not featuring a new window display each Christmas season. Since 1947, the store has featured one of two holiday scenes each year: "The Enchanted Forest" or "The Mill in the Woods." Both were designed by a German toy manufacturer. In 2018, Holt Renfrew Ogilvy donated the compositions to the McCord Museum of Canadian History.
