Tip 5 – Keywords rock!

Post by Mitu100@ »

Admittedly, with Evernote's fantastic full-text search, I'm sometimes a bit lazy when it comes to adding appropriate keywords to a post. They offer the quickest way to display all available information on a topic (= keyword) in one go. The small number behind the keyword also tells you immediately how many notes have been tagged with it. If you hold down the control key before clicking on the keywords, you can also select multiple keywords and only see the posts that contain all of the selected keywords. This way you can be sure that you'll quickly get the information you need, even if you have a lot of notes.

When can this be important? For example, I may only vaguely remember that I clipped an article about archaeology and social media months ago. But I can no longer belarus telegram screening remember what it was about exactly (a full-text search would help) or which notebook the clipping ended up in. But if I have dutifully assigned keywords, I can find exactly this article with just two clicks!

Tip 6 – Use temporary keywords

Add hashtags to temporary keywords
When I'm working on a blog post or a presentation, I naturally make extensive use of my clippings and notes in Evernote. I use special keywords to collect the notes found from the full-text or keyword search for the current project. Inspired by #hashtags, I always precede the keyword for the current research project with a #. Even if the keyword starts with "Z", it is always displayed at the beginning of the keyword list. If I have read or used the note and no longer need it, I can simply delete it from the collection by deleting the keyword.
