Keyword Gap Analysis
Another great way to find keywords where there is overlap with your competitors or for that you don’t is through keyword gap analysis. This strategy allows you to go into one or more competitors and find terms where there is common ground or where one or more of those competitors rank and you don’t.
SEMrush
Simply type in your site and the sites you want to analyze, select the type of keywords, and get a list of those keywords.
You can also filter for a specific keyword and compare how you rank against your competitors for the term, and see which pages rank highest. You can review which pages your competitors rank highest and see what related keywords they included that you may have missed.

Unique keywords
The list below shows "unique" keywords, which are keywords that only one of the sites has rankings for, and the others don't. You can play with the advanced filters here to set parameters and jiangsu mobile database see only keywords that one or more competitors have ranking for in the top 10 or 20, and your site doesn't.
Another way to segment is to look for keywords where you are “close” to the competitor but not quite at the same level yet. This keyword data can help you determine whether you should optimize existing content or create new content, but those terms should certainly be on your list. One way I use this is to look for terms where my competitor ranks in the top 5 and where the site I am analyzing ranks between 6-10.
Related websites
Just like with sites that may compete directly with you, sites in related topics are often good opportunities to collect keywords. Let's say you're an e-commerce site that sells specialty running shoes. You might not consider Runners World (a purely content site) to be one of your business's competitors, nor might they have a large number of keywords that currently overlap with yours. However, they may have a lot of keywords ranking that may be relevant to your site.
You can pull keywords that are considered relevant from Google Ads or you can pull keywords that are currently ranking on Google from SEMrush. In the case of Google Ads, simply follow the same procedure as outlined above in “Generating organic keyword ideas from your website” and type in your competitor’s site or a related site.
