Overall, Google is a great place to work. You work

with amazing people who have deep knowledge. But it often becomes
siloed. A successful business, company, and product is
multidisciplinary and involves understanding and fine-tuning human
behavior, economics, team energy, and a host of other factors. In a large company, you have a small role where
you only interact with one aspect of the whole. This is
frustrating for many people who are looking for “self-definition” in their work.

It must be said that Google
treats its former employees well. I remember the head of HR
telling me, “Come back when you miss yourself.” They maintain
relationships with former employees and sometimes even help norway mobile phone numbers database their businesses
with funding. So it’s no surprise that many
return.

I've worked in both. Both are good companies, but it all depends
on what your dream is. My dream is to be the top of the chain, not a cog in
the machine. Yes, you get all the perks, like free food, but you
're working to make someone else's dream come true.

I left that path two years ago and have never looked back.
I am grateful to the companies for giving me the experience I needed, but now I am
free and I would not trade that freedom for any perks or free food.

We invite
former employees of Yandex,
VKontakte, Google Russia and other “dream companies” to join the discussion in the comments.
