This means that online stores are not able to pay this difference [in prices after the rate increase].”

As Alexey Byrdin, CEO of the Internet Video Association, noted, during the spring self-isolation, the audience of online cinemas really grew.

“There was a significant influx of new users, including thanks to specially announced “quarantine” promotions and discounts. Content consumption increased overall; in self-isolation, people began to watch more and more films and TV series. That is, in general, the effect played a small plus for the market, however, advertising revenue dropped sharply (as in the media in general),” the expert noted.
