The latest Instagram updates in 2022

Post by ivykhan885 »

Since its launch in 2010, Instagram has experienced phenomenal growth with nearly 24 million users in France . And to continue to attract ever more demanding users, the platform must reinvent itself on a daily basis, with an evolution of the products offered. Until 2013, after Instagram joined Facebook, it was possible to publish only photos. Two years later, boomerangs appeared , these mini videos that loop, played in one direction then the other. In 2016, the very famous stories were launched: these photos or videos that scroll at the top of the Instagram interface and have a lifespan of only 24 hours. That year also marked the arrival of live broadcasting and the explosion of influencers! In 2020, you had the opportunity to discover Réels , a fun new way to create, share and watch entertaining content.

Finally, here we are in 2022 and Instagram is taking a new turn by offering an update with a range of new features. Linov presents them to you!

The feed
The feed, also called the news feed , refers to this sequence of photos australia phone number list videos published on your Instagram account. With the update, the latter is enriched with 2 new features

The “favorites” feed: this allows you to display as a priority the latest publications from the accounts that you have determined to be your favorites.
The “subscriptions” or “following” feed: publications will appear in the chronological order of their publication without taking into account the Instagram algorithm.
To benefit from this feature, simply click on the Instagram logo at the top left and select the viewing mode you wish to use.

The “original” feed is still current by default but will see its format change. Adam Mosseri, the boss of Instagram, says he wants a vertical and immersive feed , which is why the 9:16 format will be used. As a result, photos and videos will be displayed in full screen, like on its competitor TikTok.

Additionally, Instagram now allows you to pin up to 3 posts or Reels to the top of your profile to keep them front and center, as if you had posted them recently. This is a great way to highlight your favorite content on your account. In practice, it's very simple, just click on the dots at the top right of the post or Reel you want to highlight and select “pin.”

The stories
Stories are photos or videos with a lifespan limited to 24 hours. They allow you to use interactive elements such as polls , filters or stickers . This type of content generates interaction and creates a link with the community, which is why content creators or influencers love them.

The good news is that the length of stories will be extended from 15 seconds to 60 seconds. Enough to share even more content with your subscribers!

However, with the Instagram update, only the first three stories will be broadcast . The number of stories present will however be specified below the account name. If the user wishes to view them in full, they will only have to click on “Show all”. A new feature that is not really unanimous… This is where you will have to be creative . Indeed, your stories must make your subscribers want to know what happens next so that they do not move on to those of another account.

Quick reminder: don't forget Featured Stories, which make them available on your account with no time limit.
