On Thursday, August 25th, Mynavi Creators held an online seminar entitled "Web Industry Evolution Practical Course #20: From Web Designer to UI Designer: What is the Career Shift for Pursuing User Satisfaction?"

"Web Industry Evolution Practical Course" is a course where you can learn about your career from role models working at the forefront of the web industry. This time, the 20th installment of the series, we welcomed Shoko Oyamada, a senior designer at GMO Pepabo, Inc., as a guest to talk about the role of designers in business companies.

After graduating from university, he worked as a web designer at a web belgium phone number data production company, involved in the creation and operation of small to large-scale websites. In 2009, he joined paperboy&co. (now GMO Pepabo) as a designer for the rental server "Heteml byGMO Pepabo". Since then, he has been involved in the design of various services within the company. Currently, he designs the administration screen for the online shop creation service "Color Me Shop byGMO Pepabo" using research, aiming to improve the user experience, while also working on building GMO Pepabo's design organization (especially in terms of research).

Reflecting on not being able to dig deep enough into users leads to expertise

The first half of the seminar looked back on Oyamada's career and what he regrets. After working at a web production company, Oyamada joined paperboy&co. (now GMO Pepabo) in 2009.
