By understanding the emotions that influence customers, we can build a motivation system that retains distributors and helps them achieve their goals.
2.1 Setting SMART goals as a motivation tool
Clear goals help distributors not to lose motivation and focus. The SMART method is one of the most effective planning methods in MLM. In other words, it is setting a realistic, specific and measurable goal with a deadline that corresponds to the company's strategy. Distributors working on the principle of self-employment often face the problem of self-organization part time data and maintaining motivation without external control.
The SMART approach (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound) allows you to transform vague desires into specific, measurable and achievable goals:
- Specific: Instead of "I want more sales" - "I will attract 5 new clients in the premium product category"
- Measurable: Goals should be challenging but still within the realm of possibility. For example, making one more sale than the previous month.
- Achievable: The goal should be realistic and in line with the person's resources and capabilities. For example, if a distributor has previously attracted 1-2 clients per month, setting a goal of 50 new clients at once may lead to disappointment. Instead, it is better to set a more achievable goal - for example, to increase sales by 30% in 3 months, gradually raising the bar.
- Relevant: Goals should be consistent with the overall development strategy and personal values. If I make 5 new sales, my rank will increase and I will receive more bonuses.
- Time-bound: Clear deadlines create a sense of urgency and help avoid endless procrastination. Our brains are designed in such a way that deadlines automatically increase our focus and motivation. When a task has a specific deadline, the likelihood of its completion increases several times.
