Is your blog ready for the demands of 2012? In this post I present a list of points to consider. I have implemented Adaptaphone and AppleU blogs as practical cases so that you can get an idea of how to interpret and apply them.

It's already March of the new year. It's time to check if your blog meets the new trends and requirements of 2012. I have prepared a short checklist for you to carry out a quick analysis. I take the opportunity to apply the points on the list to the winning blogs of the competition "Do you want to receive a review and promotion "by the face" for your blog?" Adaptaphone and AppleU as practical cases. You can find a brief presentation of the blogs at genteblogger.com.
Blog checklist 2012
The checklist contains the points “domain”, “legal”, “posts journalist emails SEO”, “design”, “sharing”, “contact” and “advertising”. It is very difficult for a blog to be 100% compliant with all points. Issues that may have legal consequences are more critical than, for example, the design of the site and should be dealt with as a priority.
Domain and website: is it easy to remember?
The domain is the blog's trademark. It is often the first thing that is noticed. Especially for verbal communication, it is important to choose a URL that offers little chance of misinterpretation. Ideally, a domain meets the following 4 points. To meet the minimum requirements, the blog should meet at least one of the following 4 requirements.
1. Generic : the name is the same as a verb or noun such as running, profession, marketing, video games, etc.
2. Short : The domain name is no longer than 3-12 letters. The shorter the better.
3. Avoid spelling mistakes : The URL does not contain combinations of letters and numbers that cannot be spelled accurately. Words where spelling mistakes are easy should also be avoided.
4. Memorable : This point is perhaps the most difficult. Choose a name that is not easily forgotten. If your domain is generic, it is easier to meet this point.
