How to realize that you are being spammed with a comment

What seems obvious at first can always cause doubts in the end. In many cases it depends on your blog's comment moderation policy whether you consider something to be spam or not.

Since I started this blog, some people have managed to sneak a spam comment in. Although I have been able to filter out 99.99% of the comments with the help of automated tools (WordPress plugin “Antispam Bee”) and manual moderation, I have not been able to reach 100%. I am surprised that this has been possible since I have been a blogger for 8 years and I should be able to differentiate a comment that adds value from one that does not.

What can be considered a spam comment?
