Copying yourself doesn't have to hurt you if you manage to do it well. Recycling and providing new information is a valid option to deal with the same topic repeatedly on the blog.

There can be many reasons for blogging about the same topic. With a blog that focuses on a specific niche, it is almost inevitable that over time there will be duplication or overlap with posts already published in the past. One of the reasons may be that the blogger simply forgets what has already been published.

After the first 2 months of posting every day in 2012 I had a jordan list phase where some posts would come up that would create a sense of déjà vu . I rarely repeated exactly the same advice in 2 posts but it was enough to create an impression on the reader.

Disadvantages of covering the same topic in a blog
From the moment your followers get the feeling that you are no longer offering them anything new, you have to be alert. This is usually the decisive moment when many make the decision to stop reading a blog because they think they will not continue learning.

Early followers notice it first : If someone has been following you for a while, they have a better overview and knowledge of the topics you've covered. Sometimes they remember what you've written better than you do.
You give the impression that you no longer know what to write about : it may happen without you realizing it but the perception you generate is that you have run out of ideas and all you do is write for the sake of creating a new entry.
This may be the reason for some drop in subscribers : a good indicator may be the unsubscribes related to posting a new one. It is worth analyzing whether you have gone beyond your normal scope or whether the reason is more the duplication of topics already covered in the past.
