How I Prioritize My Blog's Traffic Sources

One of the biggest mistakes I made in the past was focusing on Google as a traffic source. Today, I prioritize traffic channels differently.

I have started to study web analytics in more depth. I will surely share many of the things I will learn here on the blog. Although I have not yet gone into the subject in depth, it has already helped me structure the strategy that I am already applying on my blog.

In general, bloggers focus and obsess over a single source of traffic: search engines. The problem with this strategy is that it is a very fragile structure that creates a high dependency. Over the last 8 years as a blogger I have made many mistakes and focusing on Google has been one of them.

1. Visits from subscribers
Without a doubt, this is the king of traffic sources. People who japanese phone numbers list subscribe to receive your new content are the most loyal users. You don't have to obsess about visits , but about getting more readers. All the other channels don't belong to you. This is really the only one you can "control" and activate whenever you want. It doesn't mean you should abuse the trust placed in you because they can unsubscribe immediately. Treat your subscribers with a lot of care.
2. References from third party sites
There is no competition in the blogging world . You have to collaborate instead of competing with others. Quality content and personal stories are what help you get links from third-party sites. Leaving a mark on third-party blogs through valuable comments and posts as an external author are another way to get visits from other blogs and websites.
