Lessons learned from Delta case
These are the key lessons:
Keep it small, simple and nice. Simplicity is the core of agile, but especially that last word nice was added after this change process. Zeeland has a different culture than the Randstad. People are friendlier and less distant to each other. If the receptionist knows your license plate by heart before you do, then you understand what is meant. Because of this kindness and the appreciation of relationships, everyone is prepared to work hard and for each other. With the positive result that the transformation is also going much faster than planned.
Teamwork makes the dream work . In general, people don't like you as a coach at all. And sometimes you ask quite a lot of people as a coach, because they have quickly adopted the change, or because the other team is not there yet. Someone has to take the first step. By talking about this and being transparent, the collaboration model is strengthened. Because everyone ultimately wants to reach that end goal together.
Complexity is simplicity failed. Trite? Maybe, but it is so important. Keep changes small and manageable, so you can make quick progress.

Agile working is not implementing the methodology. Agile is a collaboration model. The word says it all, it is a concept for interaction and not a method. You won't get far by performing sprints , daily's and agile rituals. Understanding and having the agile mindset ensures success on a large scale.
