Kraftway L3 Switch Becomes First Commercial Product Based on KasperskyOS
Kaspersky Lab CEO Eugene Kaspersky has demonstrated the first commercial product based on KasperskyOS — an L3 switch from Kraftway, ZDNet reports. This is the result of Kaspersky Lab's many years of work to bring to market an operating system for protecting a variety of telecommunications equipment. KasperskyOS is designed for automated control systems, network equipment, and Internet of Things (IoT) devices.
According to Eugene Kaspersky, the release of this OS can be venezuela whatsapp data timely, since IoT communications need protection more than ever before. As an argument, he cited the consequences caused by the Mirai botnet. The protected OS will ensure the operation of applications on small optimized platforms such as programmable switches, routers, IP cameras and IoT controllers.
As noted by Eugene Kaspersky, the peculiarity of KasperskyOS is its microcode, which does not involve Linux. “We did everything from scratch. You will not find the slightest trace of Linux in it. All popular OS are developed without taking into account security requirements, so it was easier for us to start everything from scratch and do it right,” he said, adding that the company has been designing KasperskyOS for 14 years, but only recently began to fill it with code. It should be noted that the overwhelming majority of IoT OS or their components are based on Linux code.
