What Happens When You Enter Discover: A Case Study

In March of last year, from the Google Search Console of my blog, Webinfermento.it, I noticed, in the dedicated report (report not available for all Search Console properties), the presence of impressions and clicks deriving from Discover.
Throughout 2019, Webinfermento ended up in the Discover section five times with marketing with stockholder database three different articles.
The articles, specifically, are:
one dedicated to the best SEO tool ;
one on Whatsapp Marketing ;
one on how to do a perfect SEO analysis .
Discover Reporting in Google Search Console
If we look at the results, we notice that not always ending up on Google Discover has led to a boost in terms of additional traffic, but in one case it was like that, exactly in the first case, that of the article dedicated to the best SEO tools. The results of additional clicks recorded by that post are quite remarkable.
We are talking about 304 clicks in 4 days, of which 230 were received on March 21, 2019 alone, for a total of 1581 impressions, which bring the CTR to 18.8%.
Organic Traffic Boost with Google Discover
For a niche blog like ours that averages 1500 visits per day, getting 200+ in a single day from Discover isn't bad at all!
We should better understand how to exploit the algorithm by producing content that has a greater chance of ending up in this section. It would also seem that the presence in Discover lasts about 3-4 days , with the peak of clicks occurring on the first day the card appears in the feed.
If we then analyze the images present in each of the three articles, we notice that none of those present (neither the preview nor those inside the post) reach 1200px, but are between 600 and 800px.
