platform for developing apps for smart speakers!

Post by ishanijerin1 »

Today, we will be sharing our experience using NOID, a platform for developing apps for smart speakers that has been available for a limited time since August 1st !

The people who cooperated this time were Kashiyama-kun (left) and Takeuchi-san (right), current university students from the Gakushuin University Equestrian Club.

Result: With "NOID" anyone can easily develop skills!
What is NOID?
NOID is a service that enables anyone to easily self employed database design and build apps for smart speakers, based on the concept of "just like writing things down in a notebook."

Since 2018, smart speakers have become more widely used in Japan, and the demand for developing apps for smart speakers has also increased.

iRidge aims to revitalize the market by providing "NOID," a development platform for apps for smart speakers.

That's right, NOID is a service that allows anyone to easily develop apps for smart speakers!

We asked Kashiyama-kun and Takeuchi-san to give it a try to see just how easy it is!

First, we were given an explanation of NOID and the skill (smart speaker app) that we would be creating. The instructors were Iwaya (left) and Kumono (right) from the NOID development team.

Iwaya: "Do you have a smart speaker?"

Kashiyama-kun and Takeuchi-san: "I don't have it... I don't know anything about it. Is that okay?"

Iwaya: "No problem at all!"

The skill we'll be making this time is the "Rock, Paper, Scissors Skill"! As the name suggests, this is a skill that lets you play rock, paper, scissors with Alexa (the name you use to call Amazon's smart speaker) by voice.

If an engineer actually wanted to develop these skills, it would take two or three days, and even an experienced engineer would need at least a day, as they would need to create scenarios, build infrastructure, write scripts, and configure the development console.

I wonder how long it will take for Kashiyama-kun and Takeuchi-san...!

After listening to the explanation, we started operating the NOID.

It looks like Takeuchi-san finished first!

He has to think about winning and losing both on Alexa's side and on his own side.
