Why are backlinks still relevant?

Post by asikurrahmanshuvo »

Furthermore (and here is my opinion), technology has evolved so much and so many criteria have been added that link building has become just one more factor.

On the other hand, nobody said that link building is dead (by the way, here is the answer to the title: no, link building is not dead!)

You see, losing relevance doesn't mean completely eliminating the importance of this strategy. It means that you may need to rethink the resources invested in this option.

John Mueller himself said that Google should still be belarus phone number list concerned about this because it is one of the ways to monitor the Internet. And we are not just talking about their crawlers , you and I, as users, also like links, as long as they are well-made links.

On top of that, in 2016 (four years after Penguin) another big technology made a splash in the market. Andrey Lipattsev said that having good content and links leading to it was the main ranking factor.

A few years ago, in 2019, a study by Stone Temple Consulting showed that there is a strong relationship between top rankings and your backlink strategy.

And it's obvious! How can I not give importance to a great recommendation? If BuzzFeed or Business Insider links to my content in their post, I'll be very excited. So of course that has to be a factor in putting me in the top spot.

So how do you do link building today?
If you were wondering how to implement your link strategy, you should know that there are still several links that are in compliance with Google's guidelines.

I highly recommend reading Backlinko’s amazing article Link Building for SEO: The Definitive Guide (2022) . Go straight to chapter 6 which talks about strategies that I’m sure will surprise you.
